Accessibility statement for Knowledge Centre
Jonathan Hassell & Graham Armfield, Digital Accessibility Centre, 4/11/15
HSBC are committed to making our websites and apps usable by all people, whatever their abilities, technology or preferences. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of this site and, in doing so, endeavour to adhere to accessibility guidelines such as WCAG 2.0 and BS 8878.
Adapt your experience to your needs
While this site has been created to be usable ‘as is’, many people are likely to get the most accessible experience of using this site by customising their computer to suit their individual needs - for example: to get the site spoken to them, to change its colour-scheme, or increase the size of its fonts.
If that sounds like it would be useful to you, we recommend you visit
WAI’s Better Web Browsing: Tips for Customizing your Computer or BBC My Web, My Way to read or watch videos of how these customisations - achieved by using accessibility features already on your computer, phone or tablet, or through installing assistive technologies - might suit you.
Limitations of this site’s accessibility
We are aware that there are some accessibility limitations with this site, and we are endeavouring to address these:
- Some videos do not currently include captions.
- Due to limitations in the video player, people who use the keyboard to navigate around pages (including screen reader users) in some browsers may not be able to control the volume of videos due to a limitation in the volume button. Some screen reader users also may have difficulties navigating to elements of the page below the video player.
- Some people may wish to increase the text size on our site. We recommend that people using browsers on a PC do this by pressing CTRL and +, people using a Mac do this by pressing CMD and +, and people using mobile phones and tablets do this using the usual ‘pinch to zoom’ gesture.
If any of these current limitations prevent you from getting the information you need from our site, please call us on 0345 607 643 (for existing customers) or 0800 032 1770 (for non-HSBC bank customers) and we will be happy to help you.
Please let us know if you have difficulties using this site
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our site. So, if you find anything on the site difficult to use please let us know Commercial.firstname.lastname@example.org To help us understand your difficulty quickly, it would help us if you provide the information advised in ‘Contacting Organisations about Inaccessible Websites’ in your request.
All constructive feedback regarding the accessibility or usability of our site is welcome and will be carefully considered.
